ALGIERS- The People’s National Assembly (APN) will take part, on November 29 and 30 in Beirut, in the work of the Parliamentary Forum on the 2030 sustainable development plan, said a statement from the assembly on Monday.
The forum, whose work is held under the theme “Strengthening parliamentary partnership in climate action in the Arab region”, will examine the role of parliaments in the face of the threats of climate change, particularly in the Arab region, as well as the strengthening progress for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”, specified the communiqué.
This forum is organized in partnership between the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The APN is represented in the work of this forum by MPs Saad Beridja and Abdelkrim Ayed.
