Algerian-European Joint Parliamentary Committee set up in Algiers

ALGIERS- The Algerian-European Joint Parliamentary Committee was set up, Wednesday, at the People’s National Assembly (lower house), in Algiers, with the aim of enhancing cooperation and addressing economic and trade issues between the two sides.

The installation of this Commission, which took place in the presence of the EU ambassador to Algeria, Thomas Eckert, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of the national community abroad and members of the two chambers of the Parliament, aims to “revitalize and further strengthen the partnership established for more than 30 years between Algeria and the EU”, noted the press release.

Also present at the installation ceremony were the members of the Joint Parliamentary Commission, namely; “Ms. Leila Brahimi, member of the Council of the Nation of the parliamentary group of the presidential third, vice-president of the Algeria-EU Joint Parliamentary Commission, Mr. El Hadj Abdelkader Grinik, Vice Speaker of the Council of the Nation of the parliamentary group of the National Liberation Front (FLN), Mohamed Bakhchi and Mohamed Laid Ballaa, members of the Council of the Nation of the FLN parliamentary group and Bachir Ould Zemirli, member of the Council of the Nation of the parliamentary group of the National Democratic Rally (RND) party”.
