Abou El Fadl Baadji acclaimed new Secretary General of FLN party

ALGIERS – Abou El Fadl Baadji was acclaimed, on Saturday, as the new Secretary General of the National Liberation Front (FLN) party by the majority of the members of the Party’s Central Committee, meeting at the International Conference Center (CIC) at the Club des Pins ( Alger).

A lawyer, Abou El Fadl Baadji had held several positions within the party, including a member of the political bureau.

During this session, a political resolution was adopted on the postponement, to a later date, of the 11th Party Congress, initially scheduled for last April.

At the end of the work, Abou El Fadl Baadji told the press that the meeting of the Central Committee “was legal, in the presence of almost 368 members”, which testified, he said, “to the sense of responsibility of the members of the Committee “, adding that he has been acclaimed for the post of Secretary General by” the majority of the members present (with the exception of 11) “.

“Strongly impacted by the crises, the official highlighted that the current period “requires a re-founding of the Party which must play its pivotal role” on the political scene.

On this occasion, the new SG of the FLN party stressed the imperative “mobilization of the entire political class for the defense of the state and its institutions, which in fact belong to the Algerian people”.
