Algeria - The candidate for the National Democratic Rally, Azzedine Mihoubi, hosted a press conference today, a few minutes after the announcement of the preliminary results by the National Independent Election Authority (ANIE).
From the outset, the former culture minister congratulated his rival Abdelmadjid Tebboune for his victory with a rate of 58.15% of the vote. “I wish him every success in his noble national mission and in achieving the aspirations of the Algerian people,” he said.
“He will only find support and help from us because we are and always ramain at the service of this people and their institutions,” he said.
As a reminder, Azzedine Mihoubi obtained only 7.26% of the votes, according to the preliminary results, thus, ranking in 4th position behind Abdelmadjid Tebboune (58.15%), Abdelkader Bengrina (17.38%) and Ali Benflis ( 10.55%), while the candidate of the El-Moustaqbal Front, Abdelaziz Belaïd, obtained only 6.66% of the votes.
