More resources for the development of renewable energy will be devoted by the national hydrocarbon company SONATRACH, highlighted,Tuesday in Oran, its new CEO , Abdelmoumene Ould Kaddour, in his address at the opening of the 7th North Africa Petroleum Exhibition & Conference, NAPEC 2017, read on his behalf by SONATRACH vice-president Ahmed Fettouhi.
The official said that the company would invest more in electricity production from renewable energy sources, like solar energy, adding that SONATRACH is exerting huge efforts so as to become a leading player in this segment.
“We have an ambitious programme for the development of renewable energy and we want to achieve it with the contribution of national and international companies, both public and private,” he said.
In this aspects, the CEO recalled some projects already launched in partnership with other firms, highlighting that the national company vows to further boost human resources to ensure specialization in the technical fields.
