"The result of the second round of dialogue is a great success. The Libyan parties have managed to find a common position on the majority of the points of the draft agreement presented by the United Nations," said Bernardino Leon.

A first meeting took place on 10 and 11 March in Algiers.

Plagued by civil war, Libya has currently two governments and parliaments vying for power, one in Tripoli under the control of militias and the other in the east of the country, recognized by the international community.

The UN document includes "a set of ideas on security measures and the Parliament. The solution must include all these points," reported one participant in the dialogue.
