Algeria-Abdelmadjid Tebboune has been elected the new President of Algeria, snatching the majority of the votes. He replaced the long-serving president Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
These results were unveiled by the Head of the National Independent Authority for Elections Mohamad Charfi.
Abdelmadjid Tebboune snatched 58.15% of the votes
Abdelkader Bengrina got 17.38%
Ali Benflis got 10.55 %
Azzedine Mihoubi 07.26 %
Abdelaziz Belaid got 6.66%
The voter turnout at the closing of the polling stations reached 41.13 %, announced the body’s Chief.
The number of voters, thus, reached 9,692,077 out of the more than 24 million voters registered.
