The Algerian electricity and gas distribution company (SDC) is now the new entity in charge of trade of electricity and gas distribution throughout the national territory, the company said in a statement on Monday.
Created as part of the implementation of the electricity and gas distribution’s organization activity, decided by the public authorities, the SDC is the result of merger of distribution companies in the east (SDE) and (SDO) in the west on the one hand, and the connection of distribution company of Algiers (SDA) as a subsidiary, on the other hand, said the same source.
Thus, the distribution business is being now a single company in the Algerian Electricity and Gas Distribution Company (SDC), which is responsible for distribution of electricity and gas satisfaction, covering the needs of customers with requirements of cost, quality of service and safety, clarified the statement.
This new organizational configuration is inaugurating “a milestone for the distribution sector, which will then have to implement a strategy that is integrated into the dynamics of change taking place in the country’s economic environment, responding to customers’ expectations and requirements, “the company said.
The creation of this new company also has as its essential objective: “the pooling of the experiences of distributors and the harmonization of their methods, with the objective of improving their efficiency and effectiveness, and thus responding to the government’s vision of making it a way of raising the quality of service, rendered to the community”.
Headquartered in the province of Blida, the SDC is covering the entire national territory, through a subsidiary which is the Algiers electricity and gas distribution company (SDA), and two distribution regions of the country, Electricity and gas from the east and west of Algeria, as well as 14 distribution directions from the center.
Thanks to its 28,875 agents and through 52 distribution channels and 355 sales offices, SDC Company is developing its networks and services to provide its 8.934.777 electricity customers and 5,066,443 gas customers, with the best service in terms of quality and continuity of energy supply.
