Algeria, first Arab country to get over 30% of female representation in elected Assemblies

Director of Regional Bureau for the Arab States of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Mourad Ouahba affirmed Saturday, in Algiers that Algeria “is the first Arab country to get over 30% of female representation in the elected Assemblies.”

In her address during the first day of the International Conference on Promoting Women’s Political Participation at the Palace of Nations at the Club des Pins ,Mourad Ouahba said that “Algeria is the first country to have exceeded the threshold of 30% of female participation in elected assemblies “, which is considered an” effective “participation of women in decision-making.
