Washington launched an economic partnership with the Maghreb


ALGIERS - The U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economy Jose Fernandez announced Wednesday in Algiers on an initiative of U.S. economic partnership with the Maghreb, the opening of a conference on entrepreneurship US- Maghreb.

  •    Entitled " North African Partnership for economic opportunities" (Napeo), this "initiative will be managed by an independent body that will work with each of the Maghreb countries to create local advisory councils and a regional board of advisors composed of representatives of the United States, the North African diaspora in the U.S. and business leaders from the Maghreb to ensure the long-term commitment," he said.
  •    He said the objective of Napeo is to help young entrepreneurs, to become leaders and business owners and encourage the partners of the business community and academia.
  •    The Napeo relies on a network of young entrepreneurs and business leaders in North Africa to facilitate cross-border relations through the development of a regional office online and closed," said Fernandez.
  •    The Napeo also plans to sponsor a regional initiative for start-ups in new technologies for young entrepreneurs, and support science, math and technology training," he said.
  •    According to Mr. Fernandez, Washington will financially support these initiatives which will be financed by the Maghreb countries and the business community in the diaspora.
  •    According to him his country has spent about $ 7.4 billion to train 700,000 young entrepreneurs around the world and that 20,000 young North Africans will be trained.
