ALGIERS- “The maritime bridge launched at the end of July by Algerie Ferries, linking the port of Naples and Algeria, will not be stopped at the end of the summer season but extended for the full year,” announced the Algerian ambassador in Italy during a ceremony held in Naples.

For his part, the head of CNAN Italia, general agent of the ferry company in Italy, Michele Giromini said to Ferry Shipping News that the link operated with the ropax vessel EL DJAZAIR II was successful.

“During this initial test phase, the line has worked well both in terms of traffic and from an operational point of view. Therefore, the connection will go on until next January with two calls per month and afterwards it will be increased to four monthly calls at each port,” pointed out the same source.

The Algiers-Naples shipping line is part of the expansion of ENMTV’s activities with the aim to respond to the concerns of the national community established in Italy.

It also comes in application of the decision of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune relating to the opening of an Algiers-Napoli shipping line with the aim of strengthening relations between Algeria and Italy.

The National Maritime Passenger Transport Company (ENMTV) launched, Friday, July 22nd, 2022, its new Algiers-Naples (Italy) line, with a first trip departing from the port of Algiers.

Algiers-Naples maritime line : Relief for Algerian community in Italy:

Arrived at the port of Algiers, from Naples, the passengers of the first trip of this new line warmly welcomed the launch of this maritime service which constitutes a response to one of the major concerns of Algerians established in Italy. The passengers, leaving the “Tariq Ibn Ziyad” ship of the National Passenger Maritime Transport Company (ENTMV), docked at quay 11 of the port of Algiers, agreed that this initiative was a “relief” for the Algerian community established abroad.

For Lotfi, a young Algerian living in Milan, the Algiers-Naples shipping line “distresses” the majority of Algerians living in Italy, and even in the South of France, and makes the idea of ​​returning home for summer vacation more achievable.

“This shipping line allows Algerians residing in Rome, Florence, Bologna, Palermo and Naples, in particular, to reach Algiers without incident”, he explained, welcoming the quality of service and the availability of the crew of the ship “Tariq Ibn Ziyad”, throughout the 30 hours of the duration of the service.

And to add: “I bought my return ticket for 308 euros and I find this price very affordable”.

For her part, Nacera, who travels with her family, said: “I have not returned to the country for more than two years and I could not find plane tickets… The announcement of the opening of this new line allowed me to spend holidays with my family in Annaba,” she pointed out.

Competitive prices offered…….

Prices seem affordable for Algerian travelers, even much less expensive than a Marseille-Algiers trip.

The Arabic-language newspaper Echourouk, however, revealed the prices for crossings between Algiers and Naples. This daily, thus, indicated that the places are offered as of 29,900 Algerian dinars. The rate for a quadruple room is set at 35,700 DA, while a double room’s price amounts to 37,800 DA.

As for Naples – Algiers direction, the ticket price is 295 euros. For a double room, the price is fixed at 400 euros and 370 euros for a quadruple room. According to the same source, car transport prices vary according to the type of vehicle. The prices vary between 400 and 600 euros.
