ALGIERS- The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, held, on Saturday, a meeting with members of the national community established in Mali, at the end of his working and friendship visit to the country, said a press release from the ministry.

The meeting “made it possible to address the concerns of Algerians residing in Mali relating to problems of a consular nature, as well as their initiatives aimed at uniting their efforts for the enrichment of centuries-old relations of good neighbourliness, cooperation and solidarity between the two brotherly peoples,” the statement said.

“They notably underlined their ambition to further develop trade by facilitating administrative and customs procedures so as to enable them to increase exports of Algerian products to Mali,” adds the same source.

In this spirit, “members of the community warmly welcomed the imminent reopening of the Algiers-Bamako air line and the other measures recently ordered by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the impact of which will be considerable on Algerian-Malian human and economic exchanges”, pointed out the ministry in its press release.

For his part, Mr. Lamamra “reassured his compatriots of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s commitment towards the national community abroad, which has resulted in strategic orientations aimed at ensuring that their concerns are taken care of to promote their attachment to the motherland as well as their association with the socio-economic development of the country,” the statement concluded.
