Algeria-Germany: Range of agreements for long-term bilateral cultural exchange examined

ALGIERS - The Minister of Culture and the Arts, Soraya Mouloudji received, on Wednesday, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Algiers, Mrs. Elisabeth Wolbers, with whom she discussed the ways and means of strengthening bilateral relations, in particular in the cultural field which constitutes "one of the most important pillars of the relations between the two countries which celebrate this year, the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations", indicated a press release from the ministry.

ALGIERS – The Minister of Culture and the Arts, Soraya Mouloudji received, on Wednesday, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Algiers, Mrs. Elisabeth Wolbers, with whom she discussed the ways and means of strengthening bilateral relations, in particular in the cultural field which constitutes “one of the most important pillars of the relations between the two countries which celebrate this year, the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations”, indicated a press release from the ministry.

The two parties also referred to the cultural and scientific cooperation agreement, signed last June, between Algeria and Germany, constituting a sine qua non for the strengthening of long-term bilateral cultural exchange.

In terms of cultural heritage conservation, both sides agreed to add “an amendment to the agreement between the National Museum of Cherchell and the German Archaeological Institute, relating to the restoration of museum collections”, according to the press release.

After discussing the possibility of expanding the partnership between the two countries in the culture and arts sector and organizing joint events, the German diplomat thanked the minister for choosing Germany as guest of honor of the International Cultural Festival of Symphonic Music of Algiers, concluded the press release.
