Algerian FM Lamamra receives new Libyan ambassador to Algiers


ALGIERS- Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra received, Monday, Salah Mohamed Bagda who handed him a copy of his Credence letters accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Libya in Algeria, said the ministry in a statement.

“The two parties reviewed the relations of brotherhood and cooperation uniting the two sisterly countries and the two brotherly peoples and discussed the latest developments in the political and security situation in Libya.”

Emphasis was also placed on “the need to double efforts and coordinate actions in order to achieve the objective of building democratic institutions in the light of an inclusive Libyan reconciliation, able to put an end to the disputes and consecrate security, stability and development in this sisterly country”.

Mr. Lamamra, once again, welcomed the new Libyan ambassador, assuring that “he will find all the necessary support and collaboration from the Algerian authorities in order to be able to exercise his functions in the best conditions”.

For his part, the Libyan diplomat expressed “his thanks and his consideration to the Algerian authorities for their position alongside Libya in this sensitive situation”, displaying, at the same time, “his commitment to contribute to efforts aimed at promoting bilateral relations at higher levels,” the statement concluded.
