ALGIERS- The 3rd Algeria-Niger-Nigeria tripartite ministerial meeting on the Trans-Saharan Gas-Pipeline (TSGP) project, bringing together under one roof the ministers in charge of energy from the three countries, was held Thursday in Algiers, said the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
During the meeting, the three sides signed a memorandum of understanding to build the Trans-Saharan Gas-Pipeline (TSGP) project. The MoU has been inked by the Energy Ministers from the three countries following the examination of all aspects of the project, in particular, the state of progress of the implementation of the roadmap adopted in Abuja (Nigeria), and this, within the framework of the work of the Task Force made up of experts from the three countries.
Remember that the TSGP project is a mega gas transport project linking the three countries on a route exceeding 4,000 km. It is an estimated $13 billion project that could send up to 30 billion cubic metres a year of supplies to Europe.
