President of Constitutional Court receives President of Qatar’s National Human Rights Committee

ALGIERS – The President of the Constitutional Court, Omar Belhaj received, on Thursday in Algiers, the President of the National Human Rights Committee of the State of Qatar, Mrs. Maryam bint Abdullah Al-Attiyah, as part of her visit to Algeria.

On this occasion, Mr. Belhadj insisted on “the profound reforms initiated by Algeria for the consecration of the rule of law” and “the protection of human rights”, recalling the provisions of the new constitution on human rights.

For her part, the President of the National Human Rights Committee of the State of Qatar praised “the high level of cooperation between the two sisterly countries, noting the great interest that the Qatari authorities attach to relations and bilateral agreements with Algeria”.

In this context, the two parties reiterated their willingness to “intensify efforts to consolidate cooperation relations and further strengthen exchanges of knowledge and expertise in various fields, particularly in the area of ​​human rights”.

At the end of the meeting, Ms. Maryam bint Abdullah Al-Attiyah and the delegation accompanying her paid a visit to the structures of the Constitutional Court, in particular the rooms for deliberations, hearings and conferences.
