Reopening of Algerian-Tunisian borders: [acilitations to speed up traffic procedures

ALGIERS- The General Directorate of Customs has granted, within the framework of the reopening of the Algerian-Tunisian land borders, of a set of facilitations aimed at lightening and accelerating the procedures for the processing and movement of travelers, said a press release from the DGD on Thursday.

“On the occasion of the summer season of the year 2022 and following the decision of the high authorities in the country, to reopen the Algerian-Tunisian land borders, the General Directorate of Customs (DGC) decided on a set of facilitations aimed at lightening and accelerating the procedures for the processing and circulation of travelers as well as providing them with better support.”

With regard to customs processing procedures, the DGD highlighted “the acceleration of customs processing procedures, while giving priority to a given category of travellers, such as families, the sick, the elderly and persons with specific needs, without however violating the control measures required within the framework of the repression of contraventions committed in violation of the legislation and regulations, for which the customs administration is legally responsible for applying them”.

In addition, the DGC provides travelers with other communication channels, such as the toll-free number of the customs administration (10.23), as well as its official pages via social networks.
