Maritime line Algeria’s Algiers-Italy’s Napoli: Promotional campaign, competitive prices

ALGIERS- Transport Minister Abdellah Moundji called on, Wednesday, to accompany the launch of the Algiers-Napoli (Italy) shipping line scheduled for July 24 with a promotional campaign, by offering competitive prices to attract as many customers as possible, sais a press release from the ministry.

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Mr. Moundji, in the presence of executives from the ministry and the director general of the National Company of Passenger Maritime Transport (ENMTV) and his administrative staff, devoted to the revision of the policy of the company’s commercial activity, in particular the electronic ticket sales platform.

As part of the expansion of the company’s activity and in application of the decision of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune relating to the opening of an Algiers-Napoli shipping line, the Minister pleaded for a promotional campaign and competitive prices to accompany the launch of this line scheduled for July 24, so as to attract as many customers as possible.

The Minister also recommended “considering the opening of new lines and destinations to take care of the concerns of our national community established abroad, taking into account the economic aspects, the profitability, and even the sustainability of its lines”.

The Minister also called for carrying out the maintenance work necessary for optimal exploitation of the means and initiating studies on the acquisition of new ships using the financial resources available”, adds the same source.

In addition, the Minister insisted on the need to develop an electronic platform dedicated to the sale of tickets and the various remote services offered to travellers, in addition to taking care of ENMTV customers at the level of commercial agencies and on board ships.

Concerning the summer season and taking care of citizens’ concerns, the minister pleaded for “accelerating the launch of an urban maritime line linking the Algiers fishery to the port of Tamenfoust via the Sablettes promenade with the possibility of an extension to the port of Zemmouri (Boumerdes) to relieve road traffic in the capital”.
