60th anniversary of Algeria’s independence: Palestinian President arrives in Algiers


ALGIERS-The President of the Authority of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas arrived, Monday in Algiers, to take part in the festivities celebrating the 60th anniversary of the recovery of the national sovereignty.

President Abbas was welcomed, upon his arrival at the honor lounge of the Houari Boumediene international airport, by the Prime Minister, Mr. Aïmene Benabderrahmane, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra and Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Abderrachid Tabi.

Several Heads of State and delegations from brotherly and friendly countries arrived in Algiers on Monday.

They are the President of the Republic of Tunisia, Mr Kaïs Saïed, the President of the State of Palestine, Mr Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Republic of Congo, Mr Denis Sassou-Nguesso, the President of the Republic of Niger, Mr. Mohamed Bazoum, and the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mrs. Sahle-Work Zewdie, the President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali and the President of the Senate Italian, Mrs. Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati .
