ORAN – Eight mobile libraries will be launched as of Saturday in Oran, coinciding with the start of the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games, which will take place in the capital of the west of the country, said, on Tuesday, the local Department of Culture and the Arts.

In this context, eight mobile libraries will be mobilized in this operation, organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Arts, offering various titles in Arabic, English and French, as well as quotas of new works provided by the supervisory ministry, indicated the head of the Arts and Letters department of the same direction, Mohamed Djelata.

One of these libraries will be installed in the JM Olympic Village, opened in the commune of Bir El-Djir (east of Oran) in order to diversify cultural activities at this structure, which receives sports delegations. These libraries will remain open until 11 p.m., said the director of Culture and Arts, Bouchra Salhi.

The rest of the libraries will crisscross the various municipalities and daïras of Arzew, Bethioua, Oued Tlelat, Es-Senia, Boutlelis, Aïn El-Turck and Oran. They will contribute to enrich cultural activities during the Mediterranean Games and encourage young people and children to read, added the same official.
