ALGIERS – The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), Mr. Brahim Boughali received, Sunday in Algiers, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Algeria, Igor Beliaev who paid him a farewell visit at the end of his mission in Algeria, said a statement from the lower house of parliament.
The two sides “reviewed the privileged and centuries-old bilateral relations,” the statement said.
On this occasion, “Mr. Beliaev expressed his joy and pride in the period spent in Algeria as a representative of his country”, recalling “the achievements made during this period which have further strengthened the traditional relations linking the two country and the two peoples”.
In this wake, the Russian diplomat highlighted “the draft deep strategic partnership agreement as well as the permanent contact between the two countries”, congratulating “the Algerian people on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of independence”.
Mr. Beliaev showed his joy to attend the festivities of this anniversary, according to the press release of the APN.
For his part, Mr. Boughali welcomed the Russian ambassador, “thanking him for this visit which reflects the relations of cooperation, particularly at the parliamentary level which should be consolidated”, concluded the press release.
