Algeria-Czech Republic: Minutes on mining cooperation inked


ALGIERS – A minutes of bilateral cooperation has been signed between Algeria and the Czech Republic, said a press release from the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

The signing ceremony took place at the ministry’s headquarters in the presence of the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab and the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Algeria, Ms. Lenka Pokorna, the same source added.

The signing of the minutes comes at the end of the working visit to Algiers, carried out by a Czech delegation, made up of representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade as well as managers of Czech companies, who held meetings with the managers and executives of the group ” Manadjim El-Djazair” (MANAL), the National Agency for Mining Activities (ANAM) and the Geological Service Agency of Algeria (ASGA).

The investment and partnership opportunities in the mining sector in Algeria were examined during this meeting, added the same source, pointing out that the cooperation minutes included the intensification of exchanges between the geological services and the mining laboratories of the two countries, the strengthening of cooperation in the field of environmental studies and mining exploration techniques, as well as the cooperation in the development of precious stone mines.

On this occasion, the two parties reaffirmed “their willingness to establish a mutually beneficial partnership in the mining sector in Algeria with the transfer of knowledge and training, the statement concluded.
