ALGIERS- The Algerian football team arrived, on Thursday, in Douala, for their match against their Cameroonian counterpart on Friday (6:00 p.m. Algerian time) at the Japoma stadium, in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Upon their arrival at Douala International Airport, the Greens were greeted by Youth and Sports Minister Abderrezak Sebgag, Tourism Minister Yacine Hammadi, Algerian Ambassador to Cameroon Mahi Boumedienne, Governor from Douala, Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua, the president of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), Charaf-Eddine Amara, and the president of the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee (COA), Abderrahmane Hammad. Supporters were, also, present to welcome the players.
Remember that the first leg will be played in Japoma (Cameroon) on March 25 with Botswana’s Joshua Bondo on the whistle and the return match in Mustapha Tchaker (March 29) will be officiated by Gambian referee Bakary Gassama.
Earlier, the national football team’s coach Djamel Belmadi unveiled the list of the 24 players for the double confrontation against Cameroon.
Here are the selected players:
Goalkeepers: M’Bolhi, Oukidja, Zeghba.
Defenders: Attal, Benayada, Bensebaini, Laouafi, Bedrane, Mandi, Touba, Tahrat, Belamri.
Midfielders: Bennacer, Feghouli, Boudaoui, Guedioura, Zerrouki, Bendebka.
Forwards: Mahrez, Slimani, Belaili, Ghezzal, Belfodil, Benyattou.
Thus, national coach Djamel Belmadi did not select the following players: Baghdad Bounedjah, Yacine Brahimi, Adam Zorgane, Haris Belkebla, Adam Ounas, Mohamed Amine Amoura, Lyes Chetti, Réda Halaimia, Mohamed Amine Tougai and Saïd Benrahma.
