ALGIERS- The public prosecutor at the Skikda tribunal issued, on Monday, an international arrest warrant against Adel Saadani, son of the former secretary general of the National Liberation Front Amar Saadani.
Adel Saadani is being prosecuted for his involvement in a corruption case in the port of Skikda, Ennahar Online reported, citing an informed source that explained that the son of the former FLN boss would have benefited from undue privileges in addition to conclusion of contracts in violation of the regulations in force.
Still according to the same source, up to 34 people, involved in this case, are tried, including the general manager of the port of Skikda, as well as other officials of the same port.
The facts for which the defendants are prosecuted date back to 2015, the year during which the son Saadani had obtained concessions to exploit a space in the port of Skikda intended for his import and export activities, on behalf of a company that he set up under a concession contract granted by the Ministry of Transport, specified the same source.
