Namibia: Int´l community called to guarantee right to self-determination of Palestinian, Saharawi peoples

Geneva (SPS) – Namibia has called on the international community to work to guarantee the Palestinian and Sahrawi peoples the right to self-determination and independence.

“The Republic of Namibia does not accept that any people be deprived of their right to self-determination, and that is why it continues to call for those peoples to snatch that right, especially those who are subject to illegitimate occupation,” Namibian Justice Minister Yvonne Dausab told the 49th session of the UN Human Rights Council.

“In this regard, we are always committed to the causes of the Palestinian and Saharawis peoples,” she said, noting that “both issues must merit international solidarity.”
