Sakiet Sidi-Youcef events: Algerian Premier arrives in Tunisia

ALGIERS-The Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Aimene Benabderrahmane arrived, on Tuesday, in Tunisia to co-chair alongside the Tunisian Head of Government, Najla Bouden the commemorative ceremonies of the 64th anniversary of the events of Sakiet Sidi-Youcef in the Tunisian city of Kef, located at the borders between the two brotherly countries.

On the sidelines of this event, “the PM will hold talks with his Tunisian counterpart on the prospects of bilateral relations, particularly the development of border areas between the two countries,” added the source.

Benabderrahmane is accompanied by “the ministers of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning and Mujahideen and Right Holders.”

Noting that the massacres of Sekiet Sidi Youssef committed by the French colonial forces in 1958, which claimed the lives of nearly 80 Algerian and Tunisian civilians, including women and children, have sealed forever the bonds of brotherhood and active solidarity between the Algerian and Tunisian peoples, who share with the other Maghreb peoples a common destiny.
