Death of former player of FLN football team Abdelhamid Zouba: FAF presents condolences

ALGIERS- The president of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) and the members of the Federal Bureau offered, this Thursday, their condolences following the death, on Wednesday evening, of Abdelhamid Zouba, former player of the FLN football team and former national coach.

“It is with a saddened heart that the President of the Algerian Football Federation, Mr. Charaf Eddine Amara and all the members of the Federal Bureau, learned of the death of Mr. Abdelhamid ZOUBA, former player of the FLN football team and former national coach”, read the communiqué issued by the Federation.

“Born on April 2, 1934 in Bologhine (ex-Saint-Eugène), Hamid ZOUBA joined the FLN team in April 1958 along with several other companions in order to carry loud the voice of fighting Algeria through several countries and continents,” the statement added.

And to add, the FAF recalled that Algerian football lost, in few months, three of its glorious players, namely, Zouba, Mohamed Soukhane (in November 2021) and Abdelkrim Kerroum ( January 9, 2022).

“In this painful circumstances, the President of the FAF and the members of the Federal Bureau offered their most sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, his relatives and Mr. Mohamed Maouche, Vice-President of the FAF and President of the Foundation of the FLN team,” the statement added.

And to conclude: “Faced with this tragic ordeal, the President of the FAF and the members of the Federal Bureau prayed to Allah the Almighty to grant the deceased His Holy Mercy and welcome him into His Vast Paradise”.
