ALGIERS- The trial of the former gendarme who fled to Spain, Mohamed Abdallah, which was adjourned to today, Wednesday, February 2, at the request of the defense collective, will be held at the tribunal of Bir Mourad Raïs (Algiers) via videoconference technique.

Mohamed Abdallah is being prosecuted along with other accused, notably for “belonging to a terrorist group which commits acts undermining state security and national unity” and “financing a terrorist group”.

The Bir Mourad Raïs tribunal issued, last March, an international arrest warrant for Mohamed Abdallah. The latter was extradited, last August, by the Spanish authorities and remanded in custody in the military prison of Blida.

As a reminder, the accused worked in the aviation units under the command of the National Gendarmerie, before fleeing to Spain.
