Weather alert: Atmospheric turbulence laden with torrential showers, colder temperatures, snowfall

Algeria- Different parts of the country will witness a change in the weather conditions, with a sharp decrease in temperatures.

As such, torrential rains will lash different provinces of the country, according to a special weather report (BMS) issued by the services of the National Office of Meteorology.

“Snowfall and heavy rains are expected in several provinces as of Tuesday,” said the BMS issued by the office.

Rains will lash the following provinces: Algiers, Boumerdes, Skikda, Annaba, El Tarf, Jijel, Souk Ahras, Constantine, Setif, Bouira and Blida.

The temperatures will also decrease, significantly, in all provinces due to the atmospheric turbulence.

As for the expected temperatures, they will witness a sharp drop, ranging from -2 to 0 ° Celsius in the interior provinces of the country, from 0 to 4 ° Celsius on the coasts, and from 0 to 7 ° Celsius in the southern regions.

As regards the northern provinces, the maximum temperatures will range between 20 and 24 ° Celsius. They will oscillate between 14 and 18 ° Celsius in the interior parts, and between 20 to 28 ° Celsius in the South.

As for the snowfall, it is expected to cover different reliefs reaching or exceeding 1200 meters of altitude, including those of Batna and Khenchela.

Meteorological services, also, warned of thick fog that will cover the coastal provinces during that period, leading to poor visibility.

Strong gusty winds are expected to blow, as of Tuesday, along different national coasts of the country, including the coasts of Bejaia, Skikda, Annaba and El Kala.

As long as winds’ speed is concerned, it will exceed 80km/ h, with waves height exceeding 06 meters with turbulences during the period of validity of this bulletin.
