ALGIERS – Up to four individuals belonging to a terrorist group have been apprehended by the security services in southern Algeria, a security source informed.
The terrorist, named CHEKRI Bilel, aka (Houdheifa), (Abou El Bassir previously), was arrested by the security services in Ghardaïa. In 2016, he joined the ranks of the terrorist group “Group for Support of Islam and Muslims” or “Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimeen,” activating in northern Mali.
The investigations into this case led to the arrest of three other individuals in Ghardaia and Tamanrasset, added the same source.
