ALGIERS- The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received, Monday in Algiers, the Mauritanian Minister of Interior and Decentralization, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk, within the framework of the first session of the Algerian-Mauritanian Bilateral Borders Committee.
After the reception, the Mauritanian minister stated that he conveyed to the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, “the greetings of his brother and friend, the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani. The meeting was at a high level, during which the President assured me of the great interest that the Algerian government and people attach to advancing cooperation relations with Mauritania, and the permanent work to develop and deepen these relations.
Mr. Ould Marzouk added: “President Abdelmadjid Tebboune conveyed his greetings to His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, and that he would be pleased to receive him according to the date that will be determined in his second country, Algeria.”
The President of the Republic also stressed during the meeting – the Mauritanian minister added – the need to “develop the existing cooperation” between the two countries through the bilateral Algerian-Mauritanian borders committee, which met Monday in Algiers.
