ALGIERS- Automobile traffic on the national road N 1, at the level of Bir Mourad Rais-Blida axis, will be at a standstill for 15 days, until the end of the rehabilitation works on a water drainage channel in Birkhadem.
“The heavy rains recorded recently caused the collapse of the drainage channel in Birkhadem,” revealed Ennahar TV, quoting the Governor of Algiers, who paid a visit to the place on Thursday, October 28 .
“Thus, and in order to facilitate the movement of motorists who have to take this section of the national road N 1, automobile traffic has temporarily been diverted from Texeraine to Ain Naaja and Oued Ouchayah,” the same official specified.
In this vein, he explained that the rehabilitation work will begin at Carbonnet in the municipality of Birkhadem.
To this end, a press release was released, announcing that the rehabilitation works would last between 10 and 15 days, stressing that the services concerned will be fully mobilized to hasten traffic’s return to normalcy.
