Communication Minister honored at opening of 21st Arab Radio and TV Festival

ALGIERS- Communication Minister Ammar Belhimer was honoured at the opening of the 21st session of the Arab Radio and Television Festival of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) in Tunis, the ministry said on Wednesday in a statement.

Guest of honor at the 21st session of the Arab Radio and Television Festival of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) in Tunis, Mr. Belhimer “was honored by the President of the ASBU, Mohamed Abdel Mohsen Al Awash and his Managing Director, Suleiman Abderrehim “.

In his speech delivered, on Tuesday, at the 21st session of the ASBU Arab Radio and Television Festival, Mr. Belhimer stressed that “the option of renewal is imperative for Arab media to ensure the sustainability of businesses media “.

Despite the fact that some Arab media have managed to compete via their various media, “this progress remains insufficient in the face of the challenges of the electronic space where investment requires enormous resources and strategic programs at the regional level”, continued the minister.

Minister of Communication, Ammar Belhimer, is participating, from Tuesday in Tunis, in the Arab Festival of Radio and TV, organised by Arab Sates Broadcasting Union (ASBU), said the ministry in a communiqué.

The festival, which will last until 22 October, is marked by the presence of General Supervisor of the Palestinian official media, Ahmad Assaf, Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, as well as experts, professionals and academics from different member countries, the same source pointed out.

The first day was marked by the launch of the Arab Media Conference workshops to discuss the latest developments in the media field, especially those related to content industry, production, distribution and multiplatform broadcasting.
