Covid-19: Total lifting of lockdown as from Wednesday

ALGIERS- Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, decided, on Monday, to fully lift the partial lockdown currently imposed in 23 provinces, said the Prime Minister’s Office.

“Pursuant to the instructions of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence and after consultations with the scientific committee in charge of monitoring the evolution of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and the health authority, Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane decided on the measures to be implemented as part of the management of the health crisis related to the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19),” the source said.

These measures, are “always in line with the aim of preserving the health of citizens and preventing the spread of coronavirus, as well alleviating the prevention measures that have been causing pressure to citizens,” according to the communiqué.

The lockdown “will last for 21 days and will take effect from Wednesday 20 October 2021,” added the source.
