Tuesday, a paid holiday on occasion of Prophet’s Muhammad (PBUH) birthday

ALGIERS- Tuesday, October 19th, 2021, corresponding to Rabî`al-awwal 12, 1443, coinciding with the occasion of celebration of the Prophet’s Muhammad (PBUH)’ birthday will be a paid holiday.

The General Directorate of Public Service and Administrative Reform announced that tomorrow, Tuesday, October 19, corresponding to Rabi’ al-Awwal 12, 1443 AH, will be a paid holiday for all employees of public institutions and administrations, public and private bodies and bureaus, on the occasion of the celebration of the Prophet’s Muhammad (PBUH) birthday.

The directorate clarified, in a statement, Sunday, that Tuesday is a “paid holiday for all public and state institutions and administrations, public and private bodies and offices, as well as for all employees of public and private institutions in all sectors, regardless of their basic law.”

However, “public institutions, administrations, bodies, bureaus and institutions mentioned above should take the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of service in the departments that operate on the rotation system.”

This paid holiday comes in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 63-278 of July 26, 1963, amended and supplemented, which includes a list of legal holidays.
