African Union: Algerian FM holds talks with African counterparts

ADDIS ABABA – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra held, Thursday in Addis Ababa, shortly before the start of the work of the 39th session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU), talks with several of his African counterparts, with whom he tackled the main issues on the meeting’s agenda.

“Nice to meet, shortly before the start of the 39th session of the AU Executive Council, my colleagues, Foreign Ministers of South Africa, Zambia, Togo, Burundi, Chad, Nigeria and Djibouti, with whom I discussed the main issues on the agenda of our meeting, “tweeted Mr. Lamamra.

The Algerian foreign minister had, on Wednesday, consultation meetings with several of his African counterparts and high-level officials at the AU Commission, including the president of the AU Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat , with which he discussed the areas of cooperation between Algeria and the AU and the ways and means to consolidate them within the framework of common African agendas in matters of peace, security and development.
