In an address on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, at the second meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations, held on the sidelines of the senior meeting, marking the 60th anniversary of the holding of the 1st Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Algerian Ambassador to Belgrade, Abdelhamid Chebchoub, reaffirmed “Algeria’s attachment to the values ​​and principles of the Charter of Nations United Nations, in particular the sovereign equality of all States, political independence, non-interference in the internal affairs of States, the right of peoples to self-determination and the peaceful settlement of conflicts “.

The diplomat also called for “working tirelessly for the promotion of the values ​​of dialogue, tolerance and solidarity”, insisting on “the need for efficient and inclusive multilateralism associating all regions and all on an equal par”.

“We should hear all voices and not just the voice of the loudest,” he said, believing that “trust, inclusion and dialogue remain the key to strengthening multilateralism and the defense of the Charter of the United Nations”.
