ALGIERS- Libyan Parliament Speaker Aguila Salah Issaa wrapped, on Monday, his official visit to Algeria, during which he held a series of meetings with senior officials on developments in the situation in Libya and Algeria’s support for this neighboring country in the process of national reconciliation, the withdrawal of foreign forces and fighters and mercenaries from Libyan territories, and the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections on schedule.
Mr Aguila was seen off on his departure from Houari-Boumediene international airport by the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), Brahim Boughali.
Aguila Salah began, on Saturday, an official visit to Algeria at the invitation of the Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Brahim Boughali, during which he was received by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Mr. Aguila Salah Issaa’s talks with Brahim Boughali and Salah Goudjil “constituted an opportunity to reaffirm Algeria’s constant solidarity with the Libyan people to restore security and stability, according to an approach based on a peaceful solution stemming from the dialogue and national reconciliation, and through the organization of elections capable of starting a new era in a stable and prosperous Libya “.
This is the approach announced by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during his participation in the Berlin conference in 2020 and expressed on numerous occasions, like the ministerial meeting of the neighboring countries of Libya hosted by Algeria on August 30 and 31 … “.
“Libya is counting on the support of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune and the Algerian people to come out of its crisis which is drawing to an end,” said the Libyan official, stressing “we never forget the positions of Algeria in our favor during the difficult situations Libya went through “.
The Speaker of the Libyan Parliament also made it clear that “Algeria, given its influence and its central position, is capable of providing the necessary assistance to the Libyan people, given its honorable positions in favor of a political solution in Libya “.
