ALGIERS- The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), Brahim Boughali, received, on Saturday, the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Aguila Salah, to whom he reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment to accompany Libya to help it emerge from crisis, through a peaceful solution stemming from dialogue and national reconciliation, said an APN statement.
During the meeting which took place at the headquarters of the Lower House of Parliament, Boughali and Aguila examined the state of bilateral parliamentary relations and the prospects for their development, in addition to recent developments in the situation in Libya, according to the same source.
On this occasion, the Speaker of the APN affirmed that “Algeria is committed to supporting Libya to enable it to emerge from its crisis, according to an approach based on a peaceful solution resulting from dialogue and national reconciliation and through the organization of elections capable of founding a new era in a stable and prosperous Libya “.
According to the statement, Mr. Boughali gave Mr. Aguila Salah an overview of the lower house of Parliament and the approach of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for the construction of the new Algeria.
This meeting, continued the same source, allowed Mr. Boughali to address the next local elections and the expected positive results in terms of progress and development.
“Algeria’s efforts are capable of promoting national reconciliation between the Libyans, given the good relations it maintains with all parties,” the Libyan side said, stressing “the need to elect a president to Libya to get out of the crisis for good “.
