ALGIERS- President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has ordered the Government to take immediate measures to preserve the purchasing power of citizens.
“Next year, the performance indicators of the national economy will improve through reforms and incentives to be taken shortly,” said the Head of state at the meeting of the Council of Ministers he chaired on Sunday.
He stressed “the need to take all measures to preserve the purchasing power of citizens,” the Presidency of the Republic said in a statement.
As such, the President of the Republic has immediately ordered “the reduction of the income tax, the increase in the index point in the Civil Service and close coordination between the Ministries of Trade and Agriculture to ensure maximum control over agricultural products, pulses and pasta,” said the same source.
President Tebboune has given these instructions as part of the enrichment of the 2022 draft Finance Bill presented at the meeting of the Council of Ministers.
