ALGIERS- The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, held talks, Monday, with experts from the International Monetary Fund, focusing on the prospects for developing the sector, according to a ministry statement.
The talks, held via videoconference, are part of the annual consultations of the International Monetary Fund under Article 4 of the statute of this body.
The new hydrocarbons law, prospects for developing the hydrocarbons sector, investment and development plans in the mining sector and renewable energies were tackled during the talks.
The discussions also focused on the effects of the agreements of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries “OPEC” on the granting of new exploitation licenses for hydrocarbons, the statement concluded.
