UN: Ambassador Mimouni holds talks with outgoing General Assembly president

NEW YORK (UN)-Algeria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), Ambassador Sofiane Mimouni held a fruitful meeting with the outgoing President of the General Assembly, Volkan Bozkir. Both sides discussed several issues on the agenda of the 75th session of the General Assembly.

NEW YORK (UN)-Algeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), Ambassador Sofiane Mimouni held a fruitful meeting with the outgoing President of the General Assembly, Volkan Bozkir. Both sides discussed several issues on the agenda of the 75th session of the General Assembly.

On this occasion, Ambassador Mimouni praised the “enlightened leadership” of Volkan Bozkir during his tenure at the head of the General Assembly, the Permanent Mission of Algeria to the United Nations tweeted on Monday.

“I thank Ambassador Mimouni, delegate of Algeria to the United Nations, for his visit (Monday) and for his support during my tenure as President of the General Assembly during its historic 75th session,” tweeted Mr. Bozkir.

Volkan Bozkir is due to hand over the presidency to his successor, Maldives Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid, who will lead the work of the 76th session of the General Assembly, which will begin later today after the adjournment of the 105th plenary session of the 75th session of the UN GA.
