Premier presents Government Action Plan to Parliament’s Lower House

ALGIERS - The Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, on Monday, began the presentation of the Government's Action Plan to members of the People's National Assembly (APN), during a plenary session, chaired by Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, Speaker of the Assembly.

ALGIERS – The Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, on Monday, began the presentation of the Government’s Action Plan to members of the People’s National Assembly (APN), during a plenary session, chaired by Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, Speaker of the Assembly.

This Plan, essentially, focused on the initiation of structural reforms intended to revive the national economy and modernize the banking and financial system.

Adopted on August 30 by the Council of Ministers, the Action Plan is made up of five chapters, namely the consolidation of the rule of law and the renovation of governance, economic recovery and renewal, human development and a strengthened social policy, a dynamic and proactive foreign policy, as well as the strengthening of national security and defense.

At the end of the Prime Minister’s presentation, the deputies proceeded to the general debate on the government’s action plan.

The debate will wrap up, on Wednesday, with a session devoted to the Prime Minister’s answers to the questions raised by the deputies during the general debate.

On Thursday, a plenary session will be devoted to voting on the government’s draft action plan.
