Tizi-Ouzou fires: Statements of Interior Minister following field visit

Tizi Ouazou- The Minister of the Interior, Local Assemblies and National Planning, Kamel Beldjoud, dispatched this Tuesday, to the wilaya of Tizi-Ouzou where major fires left 6 dead and several injured, offered condolences of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and that of Prime Minister Aimene Benabderrahmane to the families of the victims.

Tizi Ouazou- The Minister of the Interior, Local Assemblies and National Planning, Kamel Beldjoud, dispatched this Tuesday, to the wilaya of Tizi-Ouzou where major fires left 6 dead and several injured, offered condolences of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and that of Prime Minister Aimene Benabderrahmane to the families of the victims.

The Minister of the Interior who was accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Abdelhamid Hamdani, and the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and the Status of Women, Kaoutar Krikou, paid an inspection visit to the region of Ath Yenni and Ouacifs, where he met the families of the victims to “present the condolences of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister.

“The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has been following closely, since yesterday, the evolution of the situation at the level of this revolutionary wilaya”, he said, reassuring that if the wilaya will need additional resources, in addition of those already deployed, the State will respond promptly.

“We have been in permanent contact since yesterday with the wali of Tizi-Ouzou, and our absolute priority is to protect the citizens”, he added, affirming that “firm instructions were given to the head of the local executive to preserve lives and evacuate populations threatened by fires and that is what has been done ”.

In the morning, Mr. Beldjoud said in a press statement that “criminal hands fed with hatred against our country and wanting to harm Algeria are behind the fires” which broke out in Tizi-Ouzou.
