Covid-19: Latest figures in Algeria, July 12

ALGIERS – 878 new confirmed Coronavirus cases, 580 recoveries and 15 deaths were recorded in Algeria during the last 24 hours, according to Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform’ statement issued Monday afternoon.

Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform stressed on the fact that the current situation of the pandemic requires citizens to be vigilant and to respect rules of hygiene.

More than four million doses of vaccines will be received by Algeria during the month of July, said the Minister of Health, Population, and Hospital Reform Abderrahmane Benbouzid.

The first head of the health sector, also, clarified that this batch will be followed by others next month, which, according to him, will help increase the rate of vaccination of citizens against the Coronavirus.

In addition, the Minister of Health recalled that two orders of 15 million doses each were placed “within the framework of bilateral purchase”, that is to say 30 million doses which “will be delivered to Algeria” .

As long as the Covax device is concerned, the Minister insisted that other quantities of vaccines will be received, referring, in this vein, to 12 and 16 million doses that will be received during this summer.
