ALGIERS- The new water rationing plan in 57 communes of Algiers officially comes into force on Saturday, June 26, 2021 after a shortage of this vital source that lasted for several days.
The first category is made up of 14 municipalities, which will be supplied daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. namely; La Casbah, Sidi Moussa, Bir Mourad-Raïs, Hydra, Ouled Chebel, Tassala El-Merdja, Baba Hassan, Draria, El-Achour, Belouizdad , El-Madania, El-Mouradia, Sidi M’hamed and Rahmania.
The second category is made up of 20 municipalities which will be supplied from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m (every other/ second day), namely; Oued Koriche, Raïs Hamidou, Eucalyptus, Birkadem, Gué-de-Constantine, Beni Messous, Bouzaréah, Aïn Benian, Hammamet, Bab Ezzouar, Bordj El-Kiffan, El-Marsa, Mohammadia, Bourouba , Bachdjarah, Oued Smar, El-Harrach, El-Magharia, Hussein-Dey and Heuraoua.
The third category is made up of 23 municipalities which will, on the other hand, be supplied according to a double supply system, that is to say that in the same municipality, there will be districts which will have daily water supply from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and others from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., every other day.
The municipalities concerned by this double supply system are: Bab El-Oued, Bologhine, Baraki, Saoula, Birtouta, Ben Aknoun, El-Biar, Chéraga, Dély Ibrahim, Ouled Fayet, Aïn Taya, Dar El-Beïda, Bordj El -Bahri, Douéra, Khraïcia, Kouba, Réghaïa, Rouiba, ALGIERS downtown, Mahelma, Souidania, Staouéli and Zéralda.
