Algerian National Maritime Company: New ship “Djanet” operational

ALGIERS- The new ship “Djanet”, owned by the Algerian National Maritime Company (CNAN MED) and bearing the national flag, became operational, Wednesday, after completing the procedures for transferring its ownership and operation in accordance with the provisions of Algerian law, according to a press release issued by the National Algerian Maritime Company (CNAN).

ALGIERS- The new ship “Djanet”, owned by the Algerian National Maritime Company (CNAN MED) and bearing the national flag, became operational, Wednesday, after completing the procedures for transferring its ownership and operation in accordance with the provisions of Algerian law, according to a press release issued by the National Algerian Maritime Company (CNAN).

“Djanet will embark on its first voyage in a regular line activity towards the most important ports on the southern bank of the Mediterranean, as well as Algerian commercial ports,” explained the same source.

It is noteworthy that the ship “Djanet” is a new-manufactured cargo carrier classified as a “green” ship, with a capacity of 1534 containers acquired within the framework of the plan to develop maritime transport in Algeria and strengthen the national fleet.
