DG of Pasteur Institute voices on epidemiological situation in Algeria

ALGIERS- Director-General of Pasteur Institute, Professor Faouzi Derrar, said that the epidemiological situation in Algeria is improving compared to previous months, but the danger of Coronavirus pandemic is still active and spreading, warning of the dangers of complacency and failure to implement preventive measures against this pandemic.

ALGIERS- Director-General of Pasteur Institute, Professor Faouzi Derrar, said that the epidemiological situation in Algeria is improving compared to previous months, but the danger of Coronavirus pandemic is still active and spreading, warning of the dangers of complacency and failure to implement preventive measures against this pandemic.

Professor Fawzi Derrar, indicated that Algeria is counting, on a daily basis, a number of confirmed deaths and infections by Coronavirus, especially with the emergence of new mutated strains.

In this regard, Professor Derrar stressed on the fact that “the epidemiological situation in Algeria is improving compared to previous months, but the pandemic is still present, active and spreading,” calling on Algerians to strictly implement preventive measures against this pandemic and not to be lenient.

As for the national campaign to vaccinate against this pandemic, the Professor indicated that the campaign is going well with a view to curbing the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
