Algiers- The Ministry of National Education announced on Friday, June 18, 2021, its decision not to block social media websites and shut down internet service during the baccalaureate exam, which will begin June 20, 2021.
For the first time after 5 years of application of the same procedure, the Ministry announced the installation of a “vigilance cell”, which will control the various websites and social networks including Facebook with a view to flashing out and identifying the people responsible for the topics’ leak.
Earlier, Algeria used to block internet in an attempt to prevent cheating in high school exams known as the Baccalaureate exams, after massive online leaks of the baccalaureate topics in the previous years.
Noting that more than 731,000 candidates will take the baccalaureate examination 2021 in 2,528 centers that have been prepared throughout the national territory.
