ALGIERS- President of the Constitutional Council, Kamel Fenniche said, Thursday in Algiers, that the Council has received more than 400 appeals filed by candidates in the last legislative elections of June 12.

Fenniche stated, during a press conference held at the council’s headquarters, that these appeals will be studied and decided within the legally specified deadlines.

As a reminder, the Constitutional Council organized an information day, last Tuesday, devoted to explaining how to submit and consider appeals against the provisional results of the legislative elections.

Those concerned have the right to appeal the provisional results of the elections according to formal and substantive conditions, and this is based on the constitution, especially Articles 191 and 224 of it, and in accordance with the provisions of Article 209 of the Organic Law related to the electoral system and the specific system for the work rules of the Constitutional Council.
